Overview of Neurological Rehabilitation
Neurological Rehabilitation (rehab) is a program set up by your doctor to help you recover from diseases, injury or disorders of the nervous system. Participating in neurological rehab can often help you improve function, reduce symptoms and shorten your recovery time.
After a stroke or other disease or injury to the nervous system, it may be necessary to work with a rehabilitation therapist to regain strength or functionality to the section of the brain or nervous system attacked by your disease. Working together, we can provide 24-hour nursing, physical, occupational, recreational and speech-language therapy to our neuro patients.

Inpatient Rehabilitation
The Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center, located inside Community Regional Medical Center, is an inpatient rehabilitation facility providing 24-hour nursing, physical, occupational, recreational and speech-language therapy.Admission to the Peters Rehabilitation Center is the step between your hospital stay and going home. Once admitted, we’ll do an evaluation and develop a personalized treatment plan specific to your needs. Our goal is to help you get your functional independence back.
Outpatient Rehabilitation
Outpatient rehabilitation therapy improves your mobility, strength and function so you can be more active and have a better quality of life. Outpatient rehab is for those who don’t require a stay at the Peters Rehabilitation Center.The Neurological Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (also called NORC) is located on the campus of Community Regional Medical Center. NORC provides comprehensive consultation, evaluation and treatment for patients with neurological movement disorders like ALS, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and others.
Services include physical, occupational, speech-language, and respiratory therapy, and also nutrition and social services.
