Sharnjit Purewal, M.D., is a native Fresnan who was raised on a farm in Fresno County. After completing his medical training, he moved back to Fresno in 1993 and began practicing medicine. Dr. Purewal’s focus and passion are on preventing diseases by helping his patients transition into a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Purewal recognizes the connection between the mind and body, so he is able to examine the mental and physical stress that the body experiences. As a member of the Obesity Medicine Association, Dr. Purewal has expertise in tailoring weight loss plans specifically for each of his patients.

As an active member of the community, Dr. Purewal has helped the Sikh community organize blanket drives for the Poverello House and food distributions for the Central California Food Bank. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and hiking.
