Dr. Ibironke Adelaja, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified breast surgeon committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She grew up in Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She then attended Texas A&M University College of Medicine, receiving her medical degree before completing her general surgery residency at UCSF Fresno. She went on to complete a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
 

Dr. Adelaja’s career has been dedicated to treating both benign and malignant breast diseases. She has served on the core faculty of the Department of Surgery at Community Regional Medical Center and University Specialty Surgery Associates in Fresno, where she cares for patients and coordinates a multidisciplinary breast cancer team. Dr. Adelaja was also the site director for the UCSF Fresno Department of Surgery Core Clerkship, mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Adelaja is actively involved in her community and professional societies. She has been featured in health awareness campaigns, including segments on “Central Valley Today” and Valley PBS forums on health disparities. Dr. Adelaja’s dedication to teaching and research excellence has been recognized with several awards, including the UCSF Fresno Surgery Excellence Award for teaching and the Gallo Research Award for Scientific Excellence from Rutgers. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the National Medical Association, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Fresno Madera Medical Society, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
 

In her free time, Dr. Adelaja enjoys spending time reading, swimming and singing with her choir. Her hobbies reflect her well-rounded personality and dedication to maintaining a balanced life while serving her community.
