After finishing his undergraduate studies in Arizona, Dr. Stuart Glassner spent several years as a community social worker before working with the Arizona Department of Health, focusing on healthcare disparities among at-risk populations. This experience led him toward a career in medicine, and he eventually received a doctorate from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After an internship year at the Veterans Administration in Topeka, Kansas, Dr. Glassner completed his neurology residency at the University of Kansas where neurocritical care became his calling. Subsequently, he trained for this in a fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He then directed the neurocritical care unit at University of Florida – Jacksonville, a position that also revealed the need for instructing trainees. Dr. Glassner created a training program for advanced practice providers and mentored several residents, receiving several teaching awards.

In 2016, he joined the neurocritical care and neurosurgery team at Community Regional Medical Center. There, he continues to promote high-quality patient and family interaction along with expanding emphasis in peer medical training. Dr. Glassner developed the annual Neurocritical Care Educational Bootcamp, which is a CME-approved opportunity for both didactic and simulation-based training of providers in the Neuroscience Institute. Additionally, he accepted the title of Director of Education for the institute.

For Dr. Glassner, being a physician means healing physical and emotional disease with a variety of evidence-based modalities, along with active compassion and open-mindedness. The specialty of neurocritical care allows him to support patients and their families in difficult inpatient situations while making a difference in clinical outcome, and he’s grateful to provide this service to those in the Central Valley.

Out of the hospital, Dr. Glassner is an avid Baltimore Ravens fan (his hometown team), devoted practitioner of hot yoga and supporter of the arts.
